That was the best hockey game that any of us have ever been apart of. We knew that we had to elevate our game to a new level, and every single person, from the coaches down to every single player went above and beyond to win that game. This win was the definition of a full group effort and there isn’t a team that is more deserving of the outcome.

The atmosphere of the game was electric. We felt unstoppable in every phase of the game. It was one of the most exciting starts to a game I’ve seen at UMass Dartmouth since I’ve been playing.

Men's Lacrosse Erupts for 19-5 Victory over Becker

DARTMOUTH, MA. – Season-highs abounded as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth stepped on the gas early, leading Becker wire-to-wire to wrap up a 19-5 non-conference victory at Cressy Field on Monday evening.

The Basics
Score: UMass Dartmouth 19, Becker 5
Records: UMass Dartmouth (2-7) | Becker (3-8)

How it Happened
Corsair senior Sean Peters (Medway, Mass.) tallied a game-high seven points, totaling four goals and three assists in the offensive spree. Junior Jordan Torres (New Bedford, Mass.) matched his career-high with four goals and added an assist, and freshman Donovan Prozinski (Ashland, Mass.) finished with three goals and three assists for six points. Junior DJ Miller (Ashland, Mass.) rounded out the Corsairs with multiple markers, also tabulating three goals. Hawk junior Avyay Chaganty (Bridgewater, N.J.) potted three of Becker's goals on the contest, with senior Blake Boutiette (Burrillville, R.I.) dishing out three assists. In goal, freshman Trey McMillen (Grapevine, Tex.) turned aside 14 shots.

UMass Dartmouth wasted no time getting on the board, erupting for a 7-0 advantage on 17 shots in the first quarter. Prozinski registered the first two goals less than three minutes in, and before five minutes was up the Corsairs had upped the lead to 4-0 on a marker by Miller and a behind-the-back laser from Torres. With under a minute left, Torres found the cage for his second goal in the frame with just 35 ticks left in the quarter.

Peters scored less than a minute into the second quarter, followed by a goal by Miller at 7:44 to increase the lead to 9-0. Becker finally cracked the scoring column at 1:25, when Boutiette found Chaganty, and moments later dished to Daniel Johnson (Plymouth, Mass.) for back-to-back Hawk scores. Torres put the cap on the Corsairs' half with one more to carry a 10-2 lead into the break.

The hosts again held Becker scoreless in the third quarter while adding five more to their total. Peters and Prozinski completed their hat tricks, and junior Tony Breslin (Hanover, Mass.) took the ball nearly the length of the field for his first tally of the season.

Becker rebounded to outshoot the Corsairs 9-8 in the fourth, but three goals weren't nearly enough to close the gap as UMass Dartmouth upped its final total with four more scores.
